The project 'Introduction of families to German culture and society;

*Language mediation in schools (for the age groups 6-19) and counselling on labour market integration (for the age group 16-27) - in the district of Lichtenberg" is aimed at immigrants from the new accession countries of the European Union, in particular Roma from Romania and Bulgaria, and aims to achieve the following:

• Promote closer cooperation between parents and schools.
• Improve parents' involvement in their children's schooling and raise awareness of the importance of education.
• Improve academic performance and attendance at school.
• Identifying existing resources and services in the neighbourhood and opening them up to the target group.
