The aim of the Afrikaherz project is to improve access to health services for African migrants through counselling, support and education. Special emphasis is placed on counselling in all matters concerning HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, including the care of affected people and their relatives. Culturally sensitive health education and information is intended to reach African migrants who, due to language, social and cultural barriers, do not make use of the existing prevention services of the regular health services.
